Article: “Sorry guys, these lots are not for you” – ‘Home’ Section (Pg B1)

Question 1:
What were some of the reasons cited in the article why there was a need to have parking lots for women only in these buildings?

ANS: It is to let the women feel safer parking nearer to the entrance, and to make it less tiring for the women, especially when they are in heels.

Question 2:
(a) In your opinion, do you think it is necessary to allocate parking lots for women only? Why?

ANS: In my opinion, I think it is not necessary to allocate parking lots for women. It is very unfair for male/family during the peak hours. With good security facilities, women would not feel that their safety is being compromised, and so walking a further distance is not a hard task.

(b) Which group of people do you then feel should be allocated such priority parking? Explain.

ANS: Lots for family with women whose are pregnant, with elderly or even family with people whose is physically disabled. It is because those are the people that need the lots more than anyone. Since they could not make any huge movement, the lots must be near the entrance to be able to help them.
